Pastor Steve and Debbie Howe came on part-time at Lifehouse in December 2010 and full-time July 2013.

Steve is one of 9 children that grew up on a farm near Charles City, IA. He came to Christ through the influence of his family and church at the age of 13. He graduated from Moody Bible Institute, Trinity College (BA) and Dallas Theological Seminary (ThM). He spent 25 years serving in 3 churches as a Youth & Family Pastor.

Debbie is one of 3 girls who grew up in Kalamazoo, MI. She came to Christ through the ministry of Youth for Christ as a teen. She graduated from Western Michigan University (BS, MA). Debbie is currently the Executive Director of the Oskaloosa Love INC.

Steve & Debbie were married in December 1999. Together they love spending time with family, gardening, music, biking and serving others. Their passion is to see others come to Christ and grow in Him.

Robert & Tani Buchanan

Robert and Tani have married over 25 years and have 3 children. Robert grew up in MN and Tani grew up in MO. They met at Vennard Bible College and have been together in love ever since.  Robert teaches math in the Ottumwa Public High School and Tani works in IT dept, at Pella Corporation. We enjoy watching movies, graphing quadratic equations, scrapbooking, photography and dreaming of hunting and pestering our children. The Buchanan's are aware that we are all broken people and it is only by the grace of our Lord and savior Jesus Christ that we are able to server both God and man.

Eric & Denise Briggs

Eric & Birdie (Denise) Briggs were married on June 10th, 2017. Eric has a son and daughter, Birdie has three girls, as of now they have 12 grandchildren. Eric is originally from Michigan moved to Iowa in 2002. Birdie moved to Iowa in 2014 from Tennessee. Eric is employed at Vermeer Corporation, while Birdie runs a daycare out of their home. Eric enjoys bow hunting and hanging out with the guys. Birdie loves spending time with the family and cooking. Together they enjoy and hosting small groups, traveling and driving the country roads looking at wildlife.

Randy & Sherry Horn

Randy & Sherry, married over 19 years, are  parents to 8 children and grandparents to 8. Randy has an Associates Degree in Computer Systems Networking. He also has diplomas in Photography and Outdoor Writing, being published in both fields. For the past 10+ years he & Sherry have been owners of Sha-Ran Window Services. Randy's hobbies include collecting Bibles with a focus on 19th century or earlier volumes and also collecting historic flags. For fun he loves taking pictures of the great outdoors and spending time with their family.

Randy grew up riding the church bus as a child. He found Christ as his Savior in early adulthood. He has served in various capacities in the church including singing in the choir & serving in the nursery. He has also served as Deacon & Elder. Randy & Sherry feel blessed now to be part of this Lifehouse church family.

Terry & Cyndi Acord

Terry and Cyndi are long-time residents of the Oskaloosa area and have been married for 19 years. Between the two of them they have five grown children (Terry has one daughter and one son; while Cyndi has three girls). In addition, they have a running total of 12 grandchildren.

While they both enjoy retirement, Cyndi enjoys babysitting the grand kids along with reading and Terry likes to fish and help the neighbors.

Terry's faith journey began over 21 years ago with a challenge to God to prove Himself real. Cyndi attended church all her life. Both continued to grow in their faith as they serve both young and old sharing how God has worked in their lives and being an encouragement to those they meet along the way. 

Milton & Deb Hubbard

Milton and Deb have been married for 4 years. They met on Eharmony while he lived in Alabama and Deb in Oskaloosa. They were married by Pastor Steve at Lifehouse Church. Both are retired; Deb has 6 children and 16 grandchildren. She served as a teacher at Oskaloosa Christian School while he worked as a wildlife biologist with the US Fish and Wildlife Service.

They enjoy Bible study, watching movies, reading, visiting their children and grandchildren, and volunteering for church and local organizations. Deb enjoys water aerobics, knitting, and beach trips to Alabama while Milton likes to run and enjoys nature. Both have been active at Lifehouse for several years in teaching, worship team, Bible study and in prayer groups. They both want to run the race with endurance that God has been set before them, to fight the good fight, finish the course and keep the faith.
